A roman town, a fake castle, a distant glimpse of Ragley Hall, The River Arrow, a thatched Horse House, woodland and meadows there's a bit of everything on this 9.5 walk.
We will wander along and cross the River Arrow several times as we make our way towards the village of Wixford with its long abandoned railway station. We will pause for a coffee stop by the very rare 18th century thatched, hurdle and gorse walled Horse House. Later we will walk up through Oversley Woods where we stop for lunch before an easy walk across farmland and through the picturesque roman town of Alcester back to the start point.
Expect field and woodland paths, meadows and farm tracks, hopefully the mud will have dried up by July! but bridle ways in woodland can be muddy at any time.
Bring a packed lunch and drinks, dress for the weather. Options for refreshments at the end of the walk.
