This is another very green section of the London Loop. The terrain is mostly flat and includes several waterways. One stiff climb into the Sewardstone Hills is rewarded with a magnificent view across north London. In Epping Forest there is another fairly steep climb up to Hawk Wood and finally we pass through the Roding Valley Meadows Nature Reserve.
The highlights include the Enfield Small Arms Factory, King George V Reservoir, Sewardstone Marsh Nature Reserve, the Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge and the magnificent ancient oaks in Epping Forest.
The walk can be conveniently curtailed at either Chingford (5 miles) or Buckhurst Hill (7 miles) stations.
