The Isle of Islay - Cancelled
Easter on Islay
Due to the current COVID 19 situation, I have cancelled this meet. The SYHA will transfer the funds to a future booking, which I will make for Easter 2021 when SYHA bookings for 2021 open.
For those that made their bookings through GOC, I can offer a full refund, or if you prefer I can transfer your booking to Easter 2021, provided I can secure the accommodation. You can of course, cancel at any time should you change your mind and I will give you a refund. Those that made their own bookings directly with SYHA should contact the SYHA directly on 0345 393 7373. If you booked ferries, Cal Mac are offering full refunds. Sticking with the island theme, for next Easter 2020 we will meet on the island of Islay in the Inner Hebrides. This is quite a flat island, rising to a high point of just below 500m, but there is plenty of worthwhile walking to be had on the rough hills, spectacular coastlines and sandy beaches.
The isle of Jura, with its famous Paps is a short ferry journey across the Sound of Islay, and it is hoped we can include a walk up Beinn an Oir in our itinerary for the weekend.
People intending to take part in this event should read GOC's document Safety in the Hills.
