Teign Gorge
We will begin at Fingle Bridge and walk up the River Dart past the hydro electric station which provides electricity to Castle Drogo. Most of the walk is through woodland but as we get higher up above the gorge the trees open up to provide good views towards Chagford and over Dartmoor. We will see Castle Drogo from below.
If the weather is good we can have lunch at a viewpoint, but if it is raining or very windy we will need to find a more sheltered spot.
The walk finishes at the Fingle Bridge Inn which provides the ever popular warm apple cakeĀ and clotted cream.
Castle Drogo is a short drive away for those who wish to look around the house and garden after the walk.
