You've probably driven over Spaghetti Junction or down the Aston Expressway and wondered about what lies behind the concrete. This unusual urban walk explores a remarkable landscape of giant industrial structures, impressive feats of civil engineering and forgotten relics of an earlier age. From soaring landmarks to hidden corners, we'll uncover the stories behind these extraordinary places and see familiar surroundings from a completely different perspective.

The route follows pavements and towpaths throughout, with good, even surfaces and no significant climbs, making for a relaxed day's walking. There is very little shade or shelter along the way, so please come prepared for whatever the weather has in store.
