For one of our Thursday walk options of GOC goes to Sitges 2026, we offer a longer and more challenging but very rewarding linear route traversing the highest point of the rugged limestone landscape of the Garraf Natural Park, at La Morella. The route follows the GR92 long-distance trail, and is well sign-posted.  For more photos, taken in May 2025, see Google Photos.

Soon after departing from the 13th century church of Ermita de Bruguers. we will pass the Arc de Bruguers. Soon after that we arrive at the ruins of the Castell d'Eranmprunya, first mentioned in AD 957.

By around 12.30 we should reach the summit of La Morella (594m), with fine views over Barcelona and Vilafranca de Penedes, and an information board about birds that you might see there. After that we pass the car park at Pla de Querol, with fine views south along the coast to Sitges and Vilanova.

By about 1.30 we should reach La Pleta, a former hunting lodge owned by the Guell family and designed by the architect Francesc Berenguer, now  serving as the Garraf Park Office and Information Centre. A small exhibition, toilets and drinking water are available, but close at 2pm.  So we will have a late lunch here, of about 45 minutes, to allow an opportunity to visit.

From La Pleta we follow the perimeter of a deep quarry down to the final, winding descent to the coast at Garraf, with its historic, colourful beach huts and Gaudi-designed Cellar Guell.

Bookings will open on 1 July - please book as early as possible and by Friday 16 October at the latest.  Initially free tickets will be limited to 20, the capacity of a hired minibus.
