The weather was kind; with eleven of us the distance covered was about 71/2 miles.
We parked at the Weymouth Park and Ride, walked through to the coast, continued via the town beaches and crossed over the harbour bridge before passing through the Nothe Fort gardens and on to Sandisfoot Castle for a lunch stop. We saw quite a few reminders of the war and the part Weymouth played in D Day.
Following lunch we returned along part of the Rodway Trail (formerly Weymouth to Portland railway line which retains some of the old platforms) and then back to the cars via Lodmoor Gardens.
