Glenfarg Tunnels
Glenfarg Tunnels
A maoderate walk of about 9 miles mostly on tracks with about 150m of ascent, passing by Balmanno Castle. We will head back to Glenfarg along the former Fife to Perth railway line, taking in a couple of old railway tunnels so a torch will be essential, the first tunnel being curved is particularly dark and atmospheric. There is information online and YouTube about the tunnels which are extensive and anyone with any questions about conditions in the tunnel should contact the walk leader. We will have extensive views of the Tay, the city of Perth and the highlands beyond (if the weather permits).
Walking boots advised.
