A muggy Riviera day saw 20 walkers brave the steep decent into the Daccombe/ Coffinswell valley. We walked 6 miles around the valley which boasts beautiful countryside and Dartmoor views. A splinter group of walkers visited the well at Coffinswell while the others climbed the hill to our lunch spot where one member had already evicted the grazing cattle. Lunch was cut short as the rain we had seen on the moor began to close in. The remainder of the walk took us back to Daccombe and up through the woods for a more managed ascent to the top of the valley.
In the tradition of a GOC Devon walk we had cake and a cream tea at the end of the walk where thankfully the sun was shining again!
