Beinn Ime

Event Details

A climb up Beinn Ime, the highest of the Arrochar hills, also known as the Arrochar Alps. We will climb the mountain from the village of Arrochar on the sea loch of Loch Long, which means we will have to climb all of the mountain's 1011 metres to the summit. There is a good path all the way up the mountain and the climb is straightforward; if the day is clear, the views will be stunning.  The summit cairn sits on the edge of the precipices on the north side of the mountain and is an airy spot.

About 12km (8 miles) with 1011 meters of ascent.

This is a mountain walk so expect steep climbs and descents; good boots, water/wind proof jacket and trousers, hat and gloves will be required.

People intending to take part in this event should read GOC's document Safety in the Hills.
