Meall nan Tarmachan is a munro rising north of Loch Tay, near the village of Killin.  While rising to a height of over 1000m, the walk up this mountain is considered relatively 'easy', the starting point - the carpark on the road connecting Loch Tay to Glen Lyon - being at c460m, so almost half way up.

The traverse of the ridge is longer though and involves some (avoidable) scambling; 13Km, 800m of ascent, this will take us 5 - 6 hours, if we do the full traverse (there are couple of options to cut the walk short, depending on the weather and the desires of the group). This is a mountain walk so expect steep climbs and descents.

People intending to take part in this event should read GOC's document Safety in the Hills.
