We are pleased to share some exciting new appointments in response to our recent news post The surest way to enjoy GOC more, and build more enduring friendships - thank you very much indeed to David, Ben and Anne for stepping forward to get more involved, and welcome to your new roles!

David Ledsham and Ben McQuillan have both been appointed to the GOC national Committee as Trustees, to the roles of Groups Liaison officer and National Events officer respectively, and Anne Coombes has accepted the role of Group Co-ordinator for the Cornwall group.  For more on all these roles, and other vacancies and opportunities for you to get more involved yourself, see Governance and Committee.

David has been a regular event leader with several GOC groups in the South East of England for many years. He is succeeding Richard Smith in the Groups Liaison role that Richard vacated in April, responsible for supporting GOC Group Coordinators around the country. Ben has been serving as joint Group Co-ordinator of the South Wales group for some years, and is the first to play this new Committee role providing strategic oversight and support for everyone involved in the organising the Annual Outdoor Gathering (AOG) from year to year, and any other national events. Anne has recently moved to Cornwall from Berkshire, and is looking forward to helping to get the long-established Cornwall group active again after some time.
