Summer Evening Walk - Petts Wood and Scadbury Park
This is a repeat of our walk exactly one year ago and is part of our summer evening walk series. The walk is a 'figure-of-eight' of 11km (7 miles) starting at Petts Wood Station and visiting Petts Wood and Scadbury Park. Despite not being at the outer edge of London's built-up area, these open spaces are large and feel rural in nature, although easy to access by public transport.
Apart from the first and last kilometre through the suburb of Petts Wood, the walk is mainly in woodland. The paths are good, but could be muddy, especially if the preceding weeks have been rainy.
This will be a fairly brisk walk so that we can have a meal and drink at a reasonable time after the end of the walk.
