The day started cloudy, dull, chilly with a little rain but it cleared up nicely by the end of the morning. A group of 24 set off from The Heights, past the Memory Stones through part of Tout Quarry to Kings Barrow Nature Reserve and onward to the High Angle Battery recently fully opened up and improved.
We proceeded along the East Weares (cliffs) passing Nicodemus’s Knob to the Governor's garden, adjacent to the Y.O.I. (Young Offenders Institute) for lunch. We then dropped down to the old railway line and further down to the shoreline at Durdle Pier.
Next stop was overlooking Church Ope Cove then past the ruined church to Wake Ham; from there we crossed Easton Square to our leader's house where tea was provided for all. Finally we went up Reforne to St.George’s Church then on through Tout Sculpture Park returning to the cars at the
Heights.
