Wild camping weekend in the remote hills of the upper Tilt and Tarf valleys

This is a wild camping weekend based by a very remote bothy by the river Tarf known as the Tarf Hotel.

www.mountainbothies.org.uk/bothies/eastern-highlands/tarf-hotel-feith-uaine/

This is a remote area of hills and moorland east of Blair Athol but the start of our walk-in to our campsite is accessible by train servces from the south via Edinburgh or Glasgow.

We will walk in on Saturday 5th May from Blair Athol and camp near to the bothy, walking back to the road on Monday May 7th. The walk in to the campsite is long and there is the option to climb over a munro on the way in so packs will need to kept as light as possible.

A backpacking tent and a sleeping bag will be essential.  You will also need to carry all your own food for the weekend plus all your standard hill walking kit. We will walk in the mountains on Sunday; there are many hills in the vicinity with the remote Mounth Munros of Carn Ealer and An Sgarsoch being the main objectives with the added bonus of the nearby very remote Corbett of Beinn Bhreac, which may interest some.

People intending to take part in this event should read GOC's document Safety in the Hills.
