Hogmanay in Torridon
Hogmanay in Torridon
For this year's Hogmanay we have booked another shooting Lodge, this time Balgy Lodge between the villages of Torridon and Shieldaig, about five miles west of Torridon. The lodge is situated in a spectacular position overlooking Upper Loch Torridon (a sea loch). We have exclusive use of the lodge, which sleeps 12.
The Munros we might climb in the area include the spectacular Beinn Alligin, Beinn Eighe and Liathach plus the less well known Maol Chean-Dearg, Sgorr Ruadh and Beinn Liath Mhor. There are some smaller hills nearby including Beinn Damh (a Corbett) and Ben Shieldaig. There are also a number of pleasant low level walks, such as round the peninsula north of Shieldaig and along the shores of Loch Damh.
People intending to take part in this event should read GOC's document Safety in the Hills.
