Haslemere and Black Down Circular
This circular walk of 9.9 miles includes Marley Common and Black Down. We will walk through heathland, woods and
valleys of the Surrey and Sussex Greensand hills with stunning views.
This is some of the countryside that inspired Tennyson to write:
‘You came, and look’d, and loved the view long known and loved by me: green Sussex fading into blue, and one gray
glimpse of sea’..
From Black Down, the highest point in Sussex at 280m, there are amazing views. There are a number of hills before
lunch as we climb up to Black Down.
