12 miles linear walk, mostly very good paths, small sections may be muddy after continual rain. Possible to leave the walk at different parts.

An old GOC favourite in South East London, heaving with Victorian interest! Follows parts of the extensive Green Chain Walks of the area. Many lovely parks, Crystal Palace, Dulwich, Horniman Gardens, One Tree Hill, to name a few, all in late Spring bloom, woodlands, three old cemeteries, including the wild and atmospheric Nunhead Cemetery, and some great history around the iconic Victorian Crystal Palace and see its sad, almost ghostly, remains, with a visit to the excellent small museum dedicated to it (please bring loose change for the museum). We may even get a look in to the massive bases which are all that remain of the iconic water towers.

Bring a packed lunch, though some food and drinks will be available at our lunch stop at around 1pm. Prewalk breakfast is possible, and we finish with a Thai happy ending at a great little favourite Thai cafe if you wish to.  They do an excellent Thai 2 course light meal for under £6! So very well catered for!
