Assynt

Assynt is an area of unique landscapes in Western Sutherland, just north of the small town of Ullapool.  The area is characterised by isolated steep sided mountains (or inselbergs) such as Suilven, Stac Poly, Cul Mor and Cul Beg.  While these hills might not be particularly high, none of them reaching munro height, they do offer superb walking and scrambling with views over a myriad of lochans and out to the nearby sea.  There are also many opportunities for low level inland and coastal walks, plus the nearby Munros of Ben More Assynt and Conival for those wanting munros.

This Easter we will have the exclusive use of Achmelvich Beach Youth Hostel, just north of Lochinver.  The YH offers basic but comfortable and economic accommodation.
