Loch Leven Nature Reserve Heritage Trail
An off road circular route with good views to the loch, Loch Leven Castle (where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned), and the Fife Hills. The route is flat but as its 13 miles on a winter walk, we will need to walk fairly briskly. The loch is the winter home of over 20,000 birds from more northern climes. It would be worth bringing some binoculars if you have them. Dogs are welcome but as the path is through a nature reserve for its birds they should be on a lead. We can take a break half way round at the RSPB café at Vane Farm.
