Another favourite Warwickshire Walk, this 8-mile circular takes in villages, woodland and farmland.  Starting from the green opposite Aston Cantlow Village Hall, the nearby St John the Baptist Church is where William Shakespeare’s parents married in 1557.  We will walk via Billesley and Wilmcote, also passing near points of interest: the 11th century All Saints’ Church, Billesley Manor hotel (pictured), and Mary Arden’s house.  We will return to our start point where a welcome drink can be enjoyed at The King’s Head Pub (pictured), reportedly where Shakespeare’s parents celebrated their wedding reception.  Although a meal is not planned as part of this event, the pub has a Sunday menu if anyone wants to eat there afterwards.
