  • Approx Distance 4 - 5 Miles
  • TerrainThe walk is mainly level, on paved paths, roads and pavements. There are two sections where we climb metal stairs (there is an alternative level paved path avoiding one of these stairs). And there is one ascent up steps.

This 4.5 mile walk will start in Devonport and take in the magnificent views of Plymouth Sound and Mount Edgcumbe Country Park.

We will follow the waterfront from the edge of the Dockyard to the Mount Wise Observation Tower and the nearby 37 feet high Scott Memorial.

We will then walk inland, over the bridge at Stonehouse Creek and past the slipway for Cremyll ferry on our way to the Royal William Yard.

From there the walk will take us along part of the waterfront known, mainly to the locals, for its views, swimming facilities, and level paths that lead to views of the Britanny Ferry terminal.

Finally, we will take a bus back to the start point where there will be the option for tea and cakes at a local café.
