An easy and mostly flat walk in rural Inverclyde.

Loch Thom is the main water supply for Greenock and much of Inverclyde. Water from the Loch was originally delivered via an aqueduct known as the Greenock Cut to meet demand from various burgeoning local industries (including paper, textiles, ropes, sugar refining, iron and shipbuilding) during the industrial revolution.

Our walk will start on the outskirts of Greenock and follow a track for around 4km past Loch Thom to the Cornalees Bridge visitor centre. If it is a clear day there is the option of a short climb up Dunrod Hill (298m) from where we may enjoy some fine views across the Firth of Clyde to the hills of Argyll. From the visitor centre, we will then follow the Greenock Cut which will eventually take us back in a loop to the start point.
