The Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies

This is a moderate circular walk using the The Union and Forth and Clyde canals to visit the Falkirk Wheel (built to allow boats to be raised and lowered between the two canals) and the Kelpies, which are near the mouth of the Forth and Clyde Canal where it meets the River Forth. The planned return trip is made by Helix Park, passing the Falkirk football stadium and Callander Park. About 10 miles total, flat easy walking mostly on firm paths.  The walk could be cut shorter if needed by retracing our steps and cutting through Falkirk town if needed.

The walk is planned around trains to Falkirk High station, accessible by trains from Glasgow and Edinburgh.
