Visit to Greys Court NT Garden

This was a relaxed and enjoyable visit to Greys Court and its garden. Most of us had visited before but it was good to re-visit. The walled garden is always attractive at any time of year. The rose season was coming to and end but there were plenty of other plants to attract our attention and in particular an amazing artichoke in full bloom. There was a short but beautiful tunnel of crab apple trees and sweet peas growing up their gnarled trunks. And restoration work was underway on the external wall of an old tithe barn.

After our ramble around the garden we headed to the tea room. Sadly all the cakes had gone by the time we got there but we munched on scones instead. As the sun was still shining some of us headed out in to the grounds of Greys Court and had a stroll through the woods. Time was running short so we had to curtail our walk somewhat to ensure we met the 5pm closing deadline!

I hope all enjoyed this mid week afternoon out. I certainly did.
