14 members from Solent and Dorset plus a dog embarked on a 10 mile walk reaching parts of the forest new to most of us. It included an Arboretum with tall Redwoods, Knightswood Oak said to be the oldest Oak in the NF, Portugese Fireplace, Reptile Centre and a Dead Forest. Walking along paths, roads and tracks it covered many diverse habitats though wildlife remained elusive. A stop at a public House was welcome and all were pleased to avoid the occasional showers.
