From Milngavie we follow the banks of Allander Water up to Balmuildy Bridge, turn left over the river on the A879, then left again at Wester Balmuildy Farm on an unclassified road to Farm Bridge. There we join the towpath of the Forth and Clyde Canal, through Kirkintilloch and on to the bridge of the B802 in Auchinstarry, leading to Kilsyth
