Our circular evening walk starts in the small hamlet of Knowl Hill passing through the pretty village of Waltham St Lawrence with its Parish church dating back to the 13th Century. Not open on Saturdays but in the church grounds can be found a Yew Tree claimed to date back to the 16th century. We walk through the grounds of Shottesbrooke Park with its neatly manicured grounds and head back to Knowl Hill passing the 16th century home of Henry Powle a former Speaker of the House of Commons.
