A Round Hill Romp 4-6-23

It's always good to see people who haven't walked with us for a while. Especially so on such a stunning day as greeted this romp from Saltford (twixt Brizzle 'n Bath), via the railway path and field paths to the dizzying heights of Kelston Roundhill.

The roundhill is a prominant landmark on the north side of the Avon valley, affording fine views over the surrounding countryside.

Following the consumption of lunches, the route followed the Cotswold way towards Bath, ending up at Newbridge.

Due to the high mid-afternoon temperature (well, it was for us) and the lack of shade over the last section, it was decided to terminate proceedings at the nearby Boathouse pub.

With a garden next to the river, it was an ideal opportunity to observe a paddleboarder......

The return to Saltford was by bus.

Many thanks to our leader who not only laid on a smashing walk, but who had the forsight to consider unseasonally good weather.
