Ben Vrackie
Ben Vrackie
Ben Vrackie is a justifiably popular mountain that rises prominently above the Perthshire town of Pitlochry. We will climb the mountain from the town centre, using the popular tourist path, which is wide and well graded up to Loch a'Chorie. From here its quite a steep climb to the summit, but the path is good throughout and can be taken at a relaxed pace. The descent can be made using the same path or we can do a variation on a less popular path that passes behind the little hill of Meall na h-Aodainn Moire.
The walk is approx 8.0 miles with c800 metres of ascent. Some steep gradients. Good boots and a water/wind proof jacket, trousers, hat and gloves will be required.
