An exploration of the historic town of Wallingford the best surviving example of a Saxon fortified town. Its churches, fine Town Hall and museum can keep your interest not forgetting the remains of  the 11th Century castle built by William the Conqueror. The castle was the last Royalist stronghold in Oxfordshire to surrender, following a brave Parliamentary siege that lasted 65 days.  Wallingford has even made appearances in the popular TV drama 'Midsomer Murders.'
