Our 11.5 walk starts from Reading as we walk along a major goods route of centuries ago beside the Thames to Goring. We'll be walking on footpaths above the river on the Oxfordshire bank.  After an inevitably urban start our surroundings become much more rural, with views over the Thames valley.  We also pass close to a large Elizabethan manor house, an alpaca farm and an impressive horse stud. There will be a choice of shortening the walk by returning to Reading after a pub lunch in Pangbourne. The walk concludes in Goring where there are a number of pleasant hostelries if refreshment is needed. For those who prefer a shorter walk there will be the option to complete the walk in the pretty village of Pangbourne.
