A highly successful and much lauded weekend away on the IOW. We stayed in Colwell Bay near Yarmouth in spacious Chalets of a high standard. Friday was an enjoyable circular walk around Carisbrook Castle in the centre of the Island followed by a visit to Yarmouth for an evening meal. Saturday was a wonderfull walk along the top of the high downs to the Tennyson Memorial with great sea views to Hurst Castle and beyond.

Sunday was a flat walk down the Yar estuary returning up the far side and bathing in the warm sea before retiring to a local Inn for a roast dinner. Finally Monday walk was to the ancient coastal capital of Newtown and Shalfleet

The 4 walks were varied and picturesque and easy walking meaning all were looking forward to a future weekend away
