The Hillingdon Trail is an attractive route running entirely within the large outer London Borough of Hillingdon, meandering through borough from north to south. It links woods, fields, meadows, parks and open spaces in the borough, including Ickenham Marshes and Gutteridge and Ruislip woods.

Our GOC London walk today follows the northern part of the trail from Ickenham to Springwell Lock in the Colne Valley west of Harefield, and then follows the Colne and Grand Union canal corridor north to our destination at Rickmansworth.
