Pontypool circular walk
This six and a half mile, moderate, walk takes in Pontypool Park, the Shell Grotto, and Folly Tower, and returns via the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal towpath.
There are excellent views, weather permitting, from the Folly Tower hill, to the east, especially of Llandegfedd Reservoir. The walk takes in a range of good paths, tracks, minor roads and the towpath; however, the climb up to Folly Tower and the following descent, are on sections of rough stone paths and suitable footwear is essential, as well as clothing appropriate for this time of year. The paths may be muddy or wet following any recent rain.
A dog friendly walk, but there may be farm livestock in fields we pass through.
