Circular Walk in Windsor Great Park
A walk in Windsor Great Park offers the chance to walk down history Lane. This more than a thousand year old park provides plenty of interest. There is Virginia Water lake, the largest man-made lake of its time when it was first dammed and flooded in 1753. There is the Cumberland Obelisk Memorial - erected in honour of the Duke of Cumberland the son of King George II and the Cumberland Obelisk - a monumentĀ built to signify the strong bond between father, King George II and his son King George III. Walking is easy as both the roads and footpaths are all in first class condition. There are great views particularly the one shown here as our main photo taken from the Copper HorseĀ Statue looking down the Long Walk towards Windsor Castle. Another point of interest on the walk, although not in the Park is the John F Kennedy Memorial erected to honour his life following his assassination in 1963 which we will pass en route to the Great Park.
