The London Loop (Stage 9) - Uxbridge to Moor Park - INFORMAL NON-LED EVENT
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FORMAL GOC EVENT FOR THIS SECTION OF THE LONDON LOOP HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL SATURDAY 19 FEBRUARY BECAUSE OF RAIL ENGINEERING WORKS.
This informal event is for anyone living closer to the walk who may be less affected by the travel issues, unable to re-book for the 19th, and /or may still wish to meet up with other GOC London members. Please note that the walk will not be formally led. It will need someone to have a copy of the guide to the London Loop, or to download details.
The first part of the walk follows the Grand Union Canal for most of the way. It is dominated by water which makes it the bluest section of the London LOOP. There are lots of interesting things to see along the way including locks, narrow boats, canal-side pubs and a tearoom. After turning away from the canal we pass into pleasant open countryside and woodland. the only settlement of any size is Harefield, which is really only a large village although lying within the London Borough of Hillingdon.
