It was a sunny crisp Winters day and seven members embarked on the Stuart Line Bird Watching cruise around the Exe estuary.
Almost as soon as we set off we were treated to a Curlew sighting. A bit later in the cruise one member pointed out their distinctive call. Numerous birds (too many for me to remember!) were sighted, black backed gull, Oyster Catchers, Little Egrets but the stand out sightings were the Marsh Harriers (2!) and right at the end some of us saw a Kingfisher!
In addition to the interesting and informative commentary we also enjoyed a hot Devon pasty as we criss crossed the estuary.
A request to the real 'twitchers' in the group please feel free to add in the comments section any bird that I may have missed!
