S. Mids – Norton, Sandhurst Hill and the Severn

Together with our neighbouring groups — Western Midlands and Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and North Somerset — John and Guy’s October walk brought together over thirty walkers to enjoy a 7.5-mile route along the Severn between Gloucester and Tewkesbury and its beautiful surroundings.

A short climb up Sandhurst Hill revealed stunning panoramic views across the Severn Valley towards the Welsh borders. From there, we descended to the tranquil Severn, still lush and green but carrying a hint of autumn in the air.

We ended the day with refreshments at the Red Lion — a perfect way to round off a day of good company and cheerful GOC camaraderie.
