A bright summers day greeted our band of 6 as we climbed up to Badbury Rings Hillfort. Here we were met by Luke (our 'pop up' National Trust Ranger) who gave us a very informative guided tour of both the history and current land management of the rings.
Following our picnic we strolled down towards the ancient lodge on the outskirts of Kingston Lacy House, pausing to glean the ample bramble harvest enroute.
We completed our ramble along the ancient avenue of 365 beech trees and retired to a local pub for some welcome refreshment.
