Dorset Group 15Jul25: Longham and Stour Valley Way

In cooler conditions than we've experienced lately, 14 of us set off from The Angel pub, Longham, for a 4-mile morning walk. A woodland walk took us down to Christchurch Road, which we crossed to find the link path to the Stour Valley Way.  We followed the River for about a mile, seeing a heron on the way. Crossing Ringwood Road near Longham Bridge, we took a path which led us to the fishing lakes.  We stopped at the Angling Centre, availing ourselves of their benches for a short rest, before continuing across Ham Lane back to our starting point via fields and tracks. Most of us repaired to the Angel Inn for refreshments. A varied and enjoyable walk with, thankfully, no rain.
