Christmas in Cheltenham – and no rain!

The deluge might be continuing but we at South Mids recall the balmy sunshine which completed our 2025 season. Tom as leader never fails to lift everyone's spirits (and eyebrows), but combined with a midpoint Festive lunch on his Cheltenham home turf, a treat was in store

This included old GWR track beds, even older Wendy Craig BBC glories and a succession of parks apparently as busy at night as by day.

Architectural delights were followed by a group photo (Cotswolds in the background please) and George Orwell`s fictitious The Moon under Water . Our co-ordinators extraordinary skills meant meals were on time and as ordered. Suitably chuffed, we had a short cut through that gadget-laden shopping centre to a `promenade` down Montpelier and home.

Some hung back to be led , almost unawares ,to well-hidden industrial brewery. Perfect contrast to the Regency pomp preceding it. Huge fun!

Save the date  for Tom`s Gloucester city  walk with lunch in Robinswod Hill on Sunday May 1oth!
