A very enjoyable afternoon was spent on our River Thames cruise starting in Henley on Thames.  Despite threatening skies the rain kept off and we were able to see some of the beautiful countryside along this part of the Thames.

We first headed westwards through Marsh lock and then passed some very glamorous riverside homes. Our very knowledgeable guide pointed out houses of interest including a very modern home squeezed between some rather more traditional homes and which had been featured on one of the popular television programme Grand Designs. We continued along the river passing Shiplake and at Wargrave we about turned and headed back to Henley for our trip the other side of Henley Bridge and down the Henley Royal Regatta course of just over 1 mile.

To finish the afternoon off some of us popped into the Catherine Wheel for some light refreshment.

This was our second river trip. If there is still demand we can arrange another next year on a different part of the Thames.
