Thirteen walkers met at the car Park at St Denys Church in Stanford Dingley on a warm and sunny afternoon. Terry, who led the walk, was concerned about the availability of car parking spaces and encouraged us to arrive early. With great agility we all managed to park our cars/motorbike safely and off we trotted across the fields.
Our first hurdle was to mount a rickety old style which once over we were then met by five foot stinging nettles eager to attach themselves to us. Our walk then continued through fields and woodlands beautifully lit in the early evening sunshine. We walked beside the River Pang and managed to get some good photos of its gently flowing clear water. Our walk ended where it started and we were warmly greeted by Bill who, recovering from his recent operation, had wisely decided to potter in the village of Stanford Dingley rather than go on the walk.
We then headed to the Queens Head pub in South Bradfield for some welcome refreshment and a meal - for the majority who had cash with them. There was an initial problem with their card machine and would only accept cash. This resulted in 2 cashless members deciding to forego supper and start their new diets forthwith!! (Thanks Bill for the loan).
Another successful walk. Thanks Terry for leading us. And it was also nice to meet Diego on his first walk with the BMT Group. We hope he will return on another occasion.
