Foiled AGAIN!

Five hardy walkers met at Postbridge on Dartmoor on a damp windy day courtesy of storm Kathleen.

Our original plan was a walk to the East Dart waterfall. This was our third attempt to complete this route (cancelled by bad weather on both previous occasions) but yet again we were foiled.  The local Dartmoor rangers explained the boggy/flooded conditions on the route and the impossibility of crossing the river without walking through the water. We decided to be slightly less adventurous and moved to Plan B.

We set off for a blustery walk around and up Bellever Tor. Enjoying some wonderful views of the beautiful but stark moorland we made it to the top of the Tor and a serious amount of wind almost lifting us off our feet.

We soon headed down to a more sheltered lunch spot on the banks of the river before circling around to our start point in Postbridge.

After completing a bracing and enjoyable walk we headed off to Princetown and a warm and welcoming cafe!
