The autumn colours hadn't quite developed on this pleasant ramble from Fairford to Lechlade. Nonetheless, it was good to visit this southeast corner of the Cotswolds in the northern part of our area.
Passing through the eastern Cotswold water park, on paths winding between flooded gravel pits, to Lechlade for lunch. Curiously, a very generous gentleman from a house overlooking the grassed area on which we ate our lunch, offered tea all round. Unlikely, but if that guy is reading this, thank you, appreciated. The return was by way of field paths giving sight of the vast panorama across this area of the Cotswolds.
Refreshments taken in Fairford on our return, from whence we departed.
Many thanks to Guy & John, who lead from 'out of area'. Guy used to walk with this group before moving away, so his efforts were very welcome.
Finally, a GOC walk wouldn't be so enjoyable without the people - thanks.
