An evening stroll in the Southern Chilterns.

On a beautiful sunlit evening a group of 15 of us met at the Maltsters Arms in Rotherfield Greys for an evening walk which took us through ash woods and gentle valleys.  Red hips on the bushes alongside the footpaths were in abundance as were rich dark blackberries.  We passed a small group of particularly handsome cows which were keen to touch base with us! But they were penned so no worries about our safety. The walk was gentle with only one minor ascent back on to the road which took us back to the pub where we all enjoyed the warm hospitality of our hosts at the pub. The food was good and there was plenty of chatter over the meal. A bonus for us was a basket of dropped apples freely offered by David Woodward and taken from his garden.
