Adventure Out

Welcome to Adventure Out - the group for dynamic and adventurous people from across the country.

Rafting expedition to Utah

If you're the sort of person who can't wait for the weekend to get out hiking or biking, this is the group for you! Our core activity is mountain walking, but we also have regular cycling events and sometimes organise other adventurous activities, such as canoeing and backpacking.

We offer a range of weekends and longer events throughout the year in mountainous areas including the Scottish Highlands, Lake District and Snowdonia. We also have trips abroad. In 2016, for example, these include a cycling and walking trip in Italy and a hut-to-hut tour in the Austrian Alps.

We mostly stay in hostels and bunkhouses, but we also go camping at least once a year and sometimes stay in more luxurious accommodation. For example our regular ‘Highland Hogmanay’ event this new year was at Mar Lodge, an elegant hunting lodge with spacious and comfortable rooms.

Rafting in Slovenia

Whilst a certain level of experience may be required for some of our events, many are suitable for novices with our more expert members on hand to help you learn and develop new skills. If transport is a problem for you, we may be able to offer a lift. This is an opportunity to get to remote locations that you might not otherwise be able to reach.

So what are you waiting for? Check out our programme of events by clicking here. If you need more information about a specific event (e.g. meeting time, booking arrangements, what you need to bring etc) just email the event contact using a button at the foot of the event page.

New ideas for events are always welcome - please feel free to suggest something for our programme either via our Facebook page or by messaging the group co-ordinator via our contact page.

If you’re planning to come on one of our Scottish trips, the Walkhighlands website has useful information about mountain walks, including detailed information about routes and terrain. See:
