Winter walking without (much) mud

Fourteen of us were treated to an ideal winter's day for our December walk - sun without a cloud in the sky and no wind. Locals were supplemented by others taking advantage of the high speed trains to Canterbury.

Chris had altered the advertised route following heavy rain and flooding - he succeeded in avoiding most of the mud and there were only a few patches of water by the Stour. Taking in part of the North Downs Way through Harbledown, Bigbury roman fort and Chartham Hatch, the views were lovely, and we were able to take our pub break outdoors.

The day was completed by John and Gary putting on tea and cakes at their home after the walk.
