West Kent – Woodingdean, Rottingdean & the South Downs – 5th June, 2022.

A good time had by all at this month's from Woodingdean to Rottingdean over the South Downs. A bit murky to start with but it got brighter as the day went on. We walked via the now derelict Balsdean village, used during the Second World War for bombing practice. Lunch was at Rottingdean, still celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, with cut-outs of the royal family strategically placed in and around the village pond. After the walk, Anthony kindly invited us back to his and Mark's house for tea and homemade cakes; a fitting way to end the day.  Many thanks to Anthony for leading the walk and arranging refreshments afterwards.
